Thank you for your interest in studying at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin.
On this page you will find an overview of all important event dates, information and dates for the portfolio consultations (scroll further down) and our information days in June and November. All dates in Nov/Dec will be added here gradually.
During the application phase in NOVEMBER, there is also an open digital Q&A session twice a week with student advisor Susan Lipp. The dates are Tuesdays from 1 to 2 pm and Thursdays from 4 to 5 pm:ZOOM_LINK! Additionally on Nov 19 from 5-6 pm!!!

Below you will find an overview of the dates for the individual departments for the start of applications in November. Further dates will be added to the overview gradually.
In addition, you will find many useful tips on the design of the digital portfolio as well as the dates of the entrance exams:
Painting & Sculpture - Portfolio consultation 6.12.24
Thank you very much for your interest in a portfolio consultation.
Please note: The portfolio consultation takes place here at the Kunsthochschule and can only be used for one department and is carried out by students from higher semesters on site.
The registration deadline has already expired!
You will receive an email with your time slot on 26 November if you have registered using the form by 20 November. Please note that we cannot consider all registrations, as we have well over 100 registrations. We very much regret this. Unfortunately, digital counselling is not possible.
PRODUCT DESIGN - Portfolio Consultions and OpenQ&A-Session
On 30.10. at 7 pm, interested students can take part in an online Q&A session. The tutor Antonia will answer your questions and also introduce the department. In addition, 2 portfolio consultations will be offered in the Product Design department this year:

VISUAL COMMUNICATION - Portfolio Consultation - Nov 6 at khb and Nov 8 online
If you are interested in a portfolio consultation in the Department of Visual Communication at the Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin in the coming months, please register using the form below by October 30.

The portfolio consultations will take place on 6.11. on site and on 8.11. online. Times are still to be determined and will be sent to you in the confirmation email after the deadline.
FASHION - DESIGN - Portfolio consultation on 22 + 24 November
The Department of Fashion Design offers 2 analogous portfolio consultations on site for interested Bachelor applicants:
14.11. from 16:00 - Open portfolio consultation after the tour followed by general tips on the portfolio and application in front of room C201 in the group, without registration!!!
20.11. from 13:00 Individual portfolio consultation with registration at modedesign(at)kh-berlin.de (Deadline: 15.11. 12:00 noon)

STAGE & COSTUME DESIGN - portfolio consultation Novemer 28, digital
The Department of Stage & Costume will offer individual portfolio consultations via video conference on 28 November from 13:00 to 15:00.

For the personal online consultation, we recommend that you document your own work photographically beforehand so that you can then present and discuss it digitally in the video conference via screen sharing.
TEXTILE AND SURFACE DESIGN - 4 December
Students from the Department of Textile and Material Design offer interested applicants the opportunity to take part in an informal portfolio consultation.

This is an opportunity to talk about your portfolio content in an open group, to see your existing approaches and to clarify open questions. Together we can give you tips and suggestions for your portfolio content and the application process. We look forward to seeing you!

Auf Facebook und Instagram informiert die Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit laufend über Neuigkeiten der Hochschule, wie z.Bsp. aktuelle Infotage sowie auch Ausstellungen und Veranstaltungen. Zudem nutzen einzelne Fachgebiete Instagram um Studienpojekte vorzustellen. Darüber hinaus gibt es einen neuen Youtube-Kanal, der kontinuierlich mit informativen Videos zum Studium, zu den Werkstätten und aktuellen Veranstaltungen erweitert wird.
Study programs of weißensee academy of art berlin
The design departments: Fashion Design, Product Design, Textile and Surface Design & Visual Communication offer an 8-semester Bachelor's degree (240 CP), after which you can apply for the two-year Master's degree (120 CP).
The Fine Arts programs with courses of study in: Painting, Sculpture, and Stage and Costume Design cover a standard study period of ten semesters and you graduate with a diploma (300CP).
All undergraduate degree programmes start with a one-year artistic and creative foundation course.
The Master's degree programme in Spatial Strategies has a duration of 4 semesters and earns 120 CP. The postgraduate Master's degree programme in Art Therapy is a three-year, part-time programme that is completed with 180 credit points.
