Soft Rapid Prototyping Lab

 

 

Das Soft Rapid Prototyping Lab ist ein interdisziplinärer Raum für textiles Prototyping, Produktion und Forschung, in dem mithilfe digital gestützter Prozesse die Möglichkeiten textiler Materialien und Technologien erforscht werden. Die Infrastruktur deckt ein breites Spektrum der textilen Produktionskette vom Spinnen und Verzwirnen von Garnen über Jacquardweben und Stricken bis hin zum Sticken, und schafft so ein offenes Umfeld für Experimente. Im Zentrum steht eine Materialbibliothek, die Projekte und Arbeiten übergreifend dokumentiert. Muster, Prototypen und Erfahrungen bilden einen gemeinsamen, ständig weiterwachsenden Materialbestand, welcher ermöglicht, vorhandenes Wissen und bestehende Prozesse neu zu betrachten, auszutauschen und zu neuen Experimenten weiterzuentwickeln.

Die Werkstatt steht Studierenden aller Fachbereiche nach vorheriger Terminvereinbarung und Einweisung offen!

The Soft Rapid Prototyping Lab is an interdisciplinary space for textile prototyping, production and research, using digitally supported processes to explore the possibilities of textile materials and technologies. Its broad prototyping infrastructure spans the textile production chain from yarn spinning and twisting to jacquard weaving, knitting and embroidery, creating an open environment for experimentation. At the lab’s core is a material library and archive that extends the work beyond the individual projects. Samples, prototypes and experiences form a shared and growing body of material knowledge. As an evolving resource, the archive enables existing knowledge and processes to be revisited, exchanged and developed into new experiments.

The lab is open to students of all departments after prior appointment and briefing!
