Elsa Neumann Scholarship (NaFöG)
Elsa Neumann Scholarship
Once a year, a commission awards Elsa Neumann scholarships to graduates of art programs who have achieved above-average performance. The scholarships are intended to support the development of artistic projects and are offered for the subject areas of fine arts, design, music, and performing arts. The funding period is one year, with a basic monthly amount of €1,350. In addition, there is a flat-rate allowance of €100 for material costs. Additional family allowances and special allowances for travel expenses may also be granted.
Graduates whose first degree (e.g., final examination, diploma examination, bachelor's degree) was completed no more than three years ago are eligible to apply. Those who obtain a further degree after their first degree can apply within two years of the relevant examination, e.g., master's degree, master craftsman's certificate, concert exam, etc., but not during this period. The date of the relevant final examination is decisive for this.
Please note that the scholarship only allows for individual funding; team projects are unfortunately excluded.
The application deadline for the selection process is in October each year, and the one-year funding period begins in February of the following year. Please refer to the UDK website for the current deadlines and further information on the application process, application form, and information brochure. The UDK is home to the office for the Elsa Neumann Scholarships of the State of Berlin in accordance with the Young Artists Promotion Act (NaFöG) for all artistic academies in Berlin.
