Applying for Studies
Dear Prospective Students!
We are pleased that you are interested in studying at our academy. On this webpage, you will find an overview of all application deadlines for the individual study programs.
Unfortunately, the application process for undergraduate programs for the 2026/27 winter semester is already closed.
The entrance examination will take place from February 16 to 20, 2026. All applicants who have applied for the 2026/27 winter semester by the deadline will receive an email at the end of January.
The original portfolio must be brought along and will be returned after the examination. All information will be provided in the invitation.
The following application period applies to the fine arts and design BA programs:
APPLICATION PERIOD:
1 NOVEMBER 2026 - 5 JANUARY 2027 (12:00 noon CET)
Start of studies: October 2027 (Admission only for winter semester)ARTISTIC ENTRANCE EXAMINATION:
Place: weißensee kunsthochschule berlin
Period: mid FEBRUARY 2027

FOR THE BA DESIGN COURSES /
8 semesters:

AND DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES IN FINE ARTS /
10 semesters:

PLEASE NOTE: An additional homework assignment is required in the Fashion Design, Product Design, and Visual Communication programmes. This assignment will only be given once your application has been created. To allow enough time to complete the assignment, it is advisable to apply early. For all other departments, it is also advisable to apply early to allow time to ask any questions you may have. For all other departments, it is also recommended to apply early in order to receive detailed information about the application documents (such as the portfolio) and to clarify any questions you may have. You can then take your time to complete and submit your application. The deadline for this is January 5 at 12 noon.
FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

TRANSFER STUDENTS (Application for a higher semester)
APPLICATION PERIOD:
For the summer semester
from December 1 to January 5 and
for the winter semester
from May 1 to 31.
The periods may vary.
Admission for the winter semester 2026/27 is still unclear.
