The application for the winter semester 25/26 is already closed.

Dear prospective students,

We are very pleased, that you are interested in our Master's degree programme in Spatial Strategies. The next application procedure for the winter semester 26/27 will again be open from 1 March - 30 April. Applications are only possible for the winter semester.

The two-year fee-based program is intended for graduates of universities and academies, artists, architects, culture and media scholars, designers, sociologists, scientists etc. who wish to acquire - after a one year professional experience - an additional artistic qualification and Master of Arts.

Application Materials

  • Portfolio of recent artistic work (can be supplemented with theoretical or curatorial work)

  • Proof of the ability to work scientifically, artistically and transdisciplinarily through a written exposé (3 - 4 pages). In it, applicants should describe their individual study goals and a proposal for their own study project

  • Certificate of your successfully passed first academic degree, in form of an officially authenticated translation in German or English.

  • Proof of at least one year of work experience in a field relevant to the program, which was obtained after the first degree

  • CV - Brief curriculum vitae (study-relevant information)

    Additionally for international applicants:

  • German language certificate:
    At the time of application international applicants have to upload a language certificate qualification level or a confirmation of the current language course min B1. Please upload the recent proof you have. And please mind: the required qualification level for the Master degree programs is B2. The appropriate language certificate, for example TestDaF 3, DSH 1, telcB2 or the language proof from Goethe-Institut (qualification level B2) 

  • Degree certificate:
    Certified translation in German or English of the university degree certificate and proof of professional practice. The Bachelor's or degree certificates must be recognized in Germany (anabin.de). If the certificates are not issued in German or English, an officially certified translation must also be submitted. The documents in paper form must be submitted in German or English and as officially certified copies only at the time of admission.

  • Valid residence permit in copy (only for admission)

  • Applicants from India, Vietnam and the People's Republic of China:
    Certificate from the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS). Please contact the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) of the German Embassy in good time before applying.

  • Please note: all necessary certificates and documents must be upload in form of an officially authenticated translation in German or English. The documents in paper form must be submitted in German or English and as officially notarised copies only at the time of admission.

Tution fees per Semester

1.250,- € plus approx. 360,00 € semester fee (Germany semester ticket, enrolment and administration fee, social contribution, ASTA)
