Important note for students from weißensee
Students from weißensee school of art and design graduating during summer semester 2024 and planning to apply for our MA programs in design (start winter 2024/25), just send an email to Leoni Adams or Susan Lipp, in order to get activated the role "applicant" in your exisiting useraccount in our campusmanagement system Campuscore.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application for the Masters program must be sent exclusively through the online application platform (Campuscore Portal) of our school.The application period for the upcoming winter semester 2024/25 is form 1.3. - 30.4.2024! Master programs design always begin with the winter semester in October.

Please note that the deadline for submit your application is April 30 (23:59 CET). Your online-application has been completed, only if you click on the green button "submit application" (once all forms have been filled out completely).
Please inform yourself about the current admission regulations before you apply for master degree.
Application Portal Instruction
Unfortunately, our online application portal is not self-explanatory in all aspects! Please read carefully our application guide! For all questions regarding your online application, we are happy to help.
With the application form please upload the following documents:
1 Digital portfolio as PDF file (max. 20MB and max. 30 pages).
Web links are not accepted! For external applicants, the presentation of the Bachelor's thesis or the final thesis is especially important.

2 Proof of previous academic achievements or degrees (transcript of records).
3 Proof of a first university degree with professional qualification in a subject comparable to the chosen master's degree program
with at least 240 credit points or a current study documentation, if you are still in the Bachelor process.
3.1 Applicants with less than 240 CP have the possibility to prove the required competence level of 240 CP. Add here all additional qualifications in the study-relevant field to your application, such as work experience, internships, freelance activities, projects as well as trainings acquired after the first university degree.
3.2 If you cannot provide evidence of additional qualifications, you will undergo a separate examination.
4 A reasoned and detailed master's proposal.

6 APS-Certificate - Only applicants from the People‘s Republic of China and Vietnam who have achieved their first academic degree in their home country must include the original certificate confirming that the papers have been pre-checked by the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS).
7 German language certificate - At the time of application international applicants have to upload a language certificate qualification level or a confirmation of the current language course min B1/2. Please upload the recent proof you have. And please mind: the required qualification level for all Master degree programs is C1. The appropriate language certificate, for example TestDaF 4, DSH 2, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule or the language proof from Goethe-Institut (qualification level C1) has to be submitted in October at the latest.
Please note: all necessary certificates and documents must be upload in form of an officially authenticated translation in German or English.
Important informations & further procedure:
Please do not send any additional documents by post before official admission.
The examination board decides whether you will be invited for the admission interview or not. You will receive the letter of invitation to the admission interview approximately 4 - 5weeks after the deadline. The interviews will be held between end of June and middle of July, for international student skype-interviews are also possible. If you pass this interview successfully we request your full original application documents for admission at the Berlin Weissensee Art Academy.
On the basis of your artistic works (portfolio), your master proposal, your previous studies and also the interview, the examination board decides whether you will be admitted.
Fine Art study programs
The Fine Arts programs (Painting, Sculpture and Stage & Costume) at weissensee school of art are diploma degree programs and have a duration of 5 years.We do not have Masters programs in Fine Arts. If you wish to continue your studies at weissensee, it is possible to apply as a transfer student (Hochschulwechsel) and if you are accepted, you will be placed in a higher semester. Fees
Tuition fees are not charged. There is a contribution of about 300€ per Semester, administration fee, social contribution, ASTA and the semester ticket for public transport in Berlin (ABC).
