Information and deadlines for portfolio submission
Online registration for the entrance examination or an application will be possible again from November 1, 2025.
Deadline: January 5, 2026, 12:00 noon.
A digital portfolio with your own artistic works must be submitted with the online application. The relevant guidelines can be found below.

Based on your work, the next step is to decide on admission to the entrance examination.
You will receive further information and the exact dates for the entrance examination (16-20.02.2026) in the invitation letter, which you will receive no later than four weeks after the application deadline.
Notes on the digital portfolio in the department of Sculpure
1. portfolio/portfolio:
The portfolio must contain at least 25 own artistic works on a maximum of 30 DIN A4 pages in horizontal format. The portfolio may contain illustrations of drawings, paintings, photographs, collages, individual pages from sketchbooks, three-dimensional works or designs as well as audiovisual work samples (no longer than five minutes, possibly excerpts from longer works). Drawings are of great importance. Please provide the following information on each sheet: Title, technique, material, size and year of creation.
The compilation must be submitted in PDF form. The PDF should be labelled with the name of the applicant and the application number. The documents should not exceed 30 pages. The size of the PDF is limited to 30 megabytes and helpful information in German and English can be found here: https://next.kh-berlin.de/
Furthermore, a letter of motivation and a CV are requested to be submitted with the portfolio.
2. letter of motivation /statement: Why do you want to study painting at the weißensee kunsthochschule Berlin? The statement should be no longer than one DIN A4 page.
3. curriculum vitae / CV: The tabular CV (one-page PDF) includes the usual information on school education, previous studies or internships as well as exhibitions and work experience in the field relevant to your studies.
