Alex Head was born in London, 1983, and currently works in the UK and Berlin, Germany. He is an artist interested in creating non-hierarchical networks of artists, researchers and citizens. His practice facilitates meetings between artists and non-artists within the communities and micro-communities that populate the artist's working environment. His work often involves people, discussion and the translation of bodies of research into public events.
Head has recently written on intellectual property for The Anxious Prop, Berlin. He is currently developing a radio essay for Wasteland Twinning Network exploring artistic research and participatory art. In the project Objective Dialogues, 2013, Head worked with a youth theatre group to develop and re-work histories of Berlin-Moabit during FESTIWALLA theatre festival, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin. In 2014 Head will realise a new Objective Dialogues project at ZK/U (Center for Art and Urbanism), Berlin-Moabit. He has recently completed a research trip to Australia supported by the Goethe Institute Berlin.
