ANDREA MECACCI (Rome, 1972) is Associate Professor of Aesthetics at the Università degli Studi di Firenze. He has been visiting professor in the United States, Mexico and China. Co-director of “Aisthesis. Pratiche, linguaggi e saperi dell’estetico”, member of the scientific board of “Popular Inquiry. The Journal of Aesthetics of Kitsch, Camp and Mass Culture” and of "Revista latinoamericana de filosofia". His current researches focus on the aestheticization of contemporary world. His studies focus on some conceptual and operational categories of the aestheticization of the contemporary world: pop, postmodern, diffused aesthetics, kitsch, contemporary art, aesthetics of design and fashion design.
