Welcome to the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin!
Here you will find all the important information about everyday student life and the advisory services available, as well as the dates of the departmental plenary meetings, which will be announced on the homepage at the beginning of October. You will also be informed about all important procedures and events by email.
Important information about the course of study and the opportunities available at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin can be found in our study start brochure. You will also receive a paper copy of this brochure on October 13 at the enrollment ceremony. The current version will follow October 1st.
We wish you a carefree and successful study programme and, above all, a clear head for creative ideas and their implementation.
Important dates at an overview:
Enrolment ceremony: 13 October, 10 a.m., Auditorium
This will be followed by an introduction to the Foundation Year and a campus tour (for first-semester undergraduate students only).
The Student Advisory Service will be available in Room A1.03 during the introductory weeks: Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Welcome meetings:
Erasmus students: 7. October at 10 a.m.
and Master's and transfer students: 7. October at 1 p.m.Workshop introduction:
8 October, starting at 10 a.m. (for Master's, exchange and transfer students only).
Academic Year:

>>Here you will find a >>Guide to course selection in the first year of study (BA and Fine Arts)! On October 14, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., the theory and history instructors will introduce themselves and their offerings for the coming semester in the auditorium.
The practical courses and projects of the individual departments as well as the course presentation of the artistic basics are always presented at the beginning of the semester in the general assemblies. You will also receive all important information by email.

The team at the Office of Academic Affairs is here to support you throughout your studies. We are here to help when you experience stress or problems related to your studies, such as uncertainty about your course, difficulty choosing modules, procrastination, exam anxiety or problems completing your studies.
We collaborate with teaching staff in the department to find solutions, particularly for students with special needs, mental health conditions, chronic illnesses or physical impairments.
The same applies if you have experience with youth welfare or are caring for someone.
Susan Lipp (Study Advisor) will discuss possible compensation for disadvantages during your studies with you. Together, we will design your studies to suit your needs.
