Amélie Losier was born in France, she studied German Literature and History in Paris and Berlin and took classes at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. She then studied documentary photography with Prof. Arno Fischer at the school "Fotografie am Schiffbauerdamm" in Berlin. Since 2001 she has been living and working as a freelance photographer in Berlin for national and international newspapers and magazines, cultural institutions and corporate publications.



She loves portrait work, street photography, and she also produces reportages and multimedia stories in her own projects. One of her main interest is the life of women and gender issues.



Losier teaches reportage- and portrait-photography to young and adult people for different art-institutions and Universities, and is a member of the association for photojournalism FREELENS since 2011. She received several grands scholarships for her work (Akademie der Künste, VG Bildkunst, Grenzgänger). Her works was shown in many solo and group exhibitions, as well as published in books ("Wenn die Stadt schläft"at Lehmstedt Verlag; "Just like a Woman", "SAYEDA, Women in Egypt" at Nimbus, Kunst und Bücher).
