"Luisa Miller"

Guiseppe Verdi put Friedrich Schiller’s famous drama “Intrigue and Love” to music in his work “Luisa Miller” in 1849. In so doing, he created an opera which describes - in an impressive musical idiom - the barriers to young love within the aristocracy of a class society. As part of a musical theatre workshop - a cooperative project between the Hanns Eisler School of Music and the weissensee school of art and design berlin - students from the Departments of Stage and Costume Design, Stage Direction, Voice, and Production Dramaturgy have prepared for the stage selected scenes from “Luisa Miller” and one act from Schiller’s text “Intrigue and Love”. Their interpretations of these excerpts can be seen at 7 pm on 4 and 5 February in the studio of the Hanns Eisler School of Music. Entrance is free of charge
