"The Opening" is a multisensory installation that addresses the traumas of a patriarchal society and challenges conventional assumptions about gender identity and sexuality. The project is meant to celebrate human diversity while simultaneously examining how we perceive ourselves and others when confronted with our deeply ingrained assumptions.

The installation features video portraits of seated individuals with visible genitalia. On the audio level, insights into the individual stories, thoughts, and traumas of those individuals are heard. As there is no clear correspondence between the voices and the visible individuals, the viewer is encouraged to reconsider their own experiences and biases.
