Soft Insulation
Warm wool envelops me like a cozy cocoon.
A knit fabric made of organic folds and
tube-like structures surrounds my body,
protecting me like the skin of a walrus.
Repeating stitches form a three-dimensional
surface that traps air in the spaces between
them. This creates soft areas of warmth that
can be changed again and again and feel
different – by compressing, stretching, filling.
The structure of the textile interacts with the
special properties of the wool fibers and
enables variable thermoregulation. It is
permeated by a relief of tunnels. Where it
widens, a strong red emerges from under
the dark blue, allowing the warmth to be not
only felt but also seen.
