FARO – Screenless human-robot interaction in sustainable agriculture | Sarah Leicher
FARO untersucht die Interaktion zwischen
Menschen und intelligenten Maschinen
im Kontext der nachhaltigen Landwirt-
schaft. Der Fokus liegt auf der Gestaltung
einer bildschirmlosen Kooperation, in der
Mensch und Roboter als Partner mit eige-
nen Stärken agieren, ohne Autonomie
einzuschränken oder starre Arbeitsabläu-
fe aufzuzwingen. Die Interaktion basiert
auf Sprachbefehlen und Motion Capture
und wird durch Licht- und Tonfeedback
für ein intuitives Verständnis unterstützt.
Ein Dashboard sammelt Daten des Robo-
ters, des Landwirtes und von externen
Quellen, um Planungsprozesse abseits des
Feldes zu unterstützen.

FARO explores interaction between
humans and smart machines in the
context of sustainable farming. The focus
is on designing screenless, cooperative
dialogue where humans and robots act as
partners, each contributing their own
strengths without compromising
autonomy or imposing rigid workflows.
The interaction is based on voice
commands and motion capture,
supported by light and sound feedback
from the robot fostering intuitive
understanding. A digital tool combines
data from the robot, the farmer, and
external sources to support the planning
off the field.
