ALGAEFICATION And Other Soft Takeovers

In the porous terrain of a former rainwater basin, this two-day exhibition emerges from a summer of site-specific entanglements at Floating University. Through transdisciplinary gestures and speculative spatial practices, the works trace soft, symbiotic resistances—like algae weaving slow skins over broken infrastructures. Inspired by ancestral futures, rottenness, and radical imagination, ALGAEFICATION rethinks care, movement, and worldmaking in the aftermath of knowledge systems built on extraction and control. These are rehearsals for tender transformations.

A two-day group exhibition in the framework of Pauline Doutreluingne's SoSe 2025 seminar: Spatial Imaginaries of Symbiotic Care—Artistic and Research Processes; and part of the Learnscape Program at Floating University.
