Algen sind aufkommende Ressourcen für die Herstellung von Bioplastik,
Biostimulanzien und Textilien. Der Algenanbau im Meer versucht, die weltweite Nachfrage zu decken, verwendet jedoch Einweg-Plastikleinen als Kultivierungsmaterial für die Algen. (It‘s a) Cultivating Something ist ein Anbausystem für Grünalgen, das aus einem einzigen Edelstahlblech hergestellt wird. Es kann leicht auf Schwimmkörpern einer Algenfarm installiert werden, ist dank des Monomaterials wiederverwendbar und recycelbar und bietet eine große Anbaufläche. Dadurch wird die Algenkultivierung effizienter, umweltfreundlicher und trägt zur blauen Bioökonomie bei.

Algae are emerging resources for the production of bioplastics, biostimulants, and textiles. Algae farming at sea tries to meet the global demand but uses disposable plastic lines as cultivation material for growing algae. (It‘s a) Cultivating Something is an alternative cultivation system for green algae, made from a single sheet of stainless steel. It can be easily installed on the floats of an algae farm, is reusable and recyclable thanks to the mono-material, and offers a larger cultivation area compared to lines. Thus, algae farming becomes more efficient and environmentally friendly, contributing to the blue bioeconomy.
