Mono Wool - regenerative softness
Rohwolle fällt in Tonnen als Abfallprodukt in Deutschland an, denn die Fasern sind zu grob für Kleidung. Die grobe Wolle kann jedoch hervorragend als Polstermaterial eingesetzt werden, da ihre Faser eine besondere Sprungkraft besitzt. Somit könnte sie eine Alternative zu ölbasierten Schaumstoffen darstellen. Der Bezug von Mono Wool wird mit Hohlräumen gestrickt, gefüllt und durch einen Klapp-Mechanismus zu einer Sitzschale geformt. Durch die 3D-Stricktechnologie kann der Bezugsstoff als fertiges Teil aus der Maschine gelassen werden und verzichtet auf handarbeitsintensive Verarbeitungsschritte. Mono Wool ist ein Polster aus 100% Wolle, das lokal, kreislauffähig und sozial verträglich gedacht ist.

In Germany tonnes of raw wool are produced as a waste product, as the fibres are too coarse for clothing. However, coarse wool can be used as an excellent upholstery material, as its fibres have a special bounce. Therefore, it could be used as an alternative to oil-based foams. The Mono Wool cover is a 3D knitted structure with hollow spaces, filled with wool and then folded into a seat shell. Thanks to the 3D knitting technology, the upholstery fabric can be extracted by the machine as a finished part, eliminating the need for manual work-intensive processing steps. Mono Wool is a 100% wool upholstery that is designed to be local, recyclable and socially responsible.
