Ceramic Interfaces
Elektronische Geräte sind in der Regel aus einer Kombination von Kunststoff und Metall gefertigt und halten nicht sehr lange. Keramik hat interessante Eigenschaften: Sie ist extrem haltbar und einfach sehr schön. Dieses Projekt erforscht die Möglichkeiten, elektronische Geräte aus Keramik zu entwerfen. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf dem Interface und der sinnlichen Interaktion mit dem Gerät.
In drei Versuchsreihen unter den Themen Licht, Klang und Haptik teste ich iterativ, welche Technologien sich mit der Keramik kombinieren lassen, und welche Vorteile diese Kombination mit sich bringt.

Electronic devices are usually made of a combination of plastic and metal and do not last very long. Ceramic has interesting properties: it is extremely durable and simply very beautiful. This project explores the possibilities of designing electronic devices made of ceramic. A particular focus is on the interface and the sensory interaction with the device.
In three series of experiments under the themes of light, sound and haptics, I am iteratively testing which technologies can be combined with ceramics and what advantages this combination brings.
