The new Boeing 737 MAX plane has a different makeup from previous 737s. Once introduced on the market, and in order to be fit for flight, the plane would need to be re-classified and pilots re-trained. To avoid those lengthy and expensive procedures, the manufacturer Boeing introduced software to make the 737 MAX “feel” as previous planes - a process which caused 2 crashes and 346 deaths in the last year.
When does a plane cease to be a plane? Through the workshop participants will produce screen-based work to offer possible answers.
