Sacrifice | victim, a semantic change. a book-installation exhibition

My project follows the semantic change of the Hebrew word Qorban from its initial use in the Bible as Sacrifice to its modern use among Hebrew speakers as Victim.

Through the word Qorban and the semantic change, my project deals with religion and society, language and communication, exploitation and control, ancient and contemporary.

The installation was presented at my home, consisting of two sessions in two separate spaces. The first space is the dining room, where two copies of a collagraphy print book were placed on a table. The book draws a subjective visual timeline of the events generating this change. The second space remained hidden and was revealed after the first session ended. I presented my research, sketches, and last year's entire process until I finished the book in this room.

Includes 6 prints book, printing plates, website, video, process installation, etc.
