Sommersemester 2014,

Weissensee Triennale 2014

WEISSENSEE TRIENNALE

The Weissensee Triennale is a spontaneous event, exhibition and exercise of fine art students at various public locations.

The first Triennale was launched in the Berlin-Warszawa-Express on the 1st of June 2014. A group of 24 students from the Weissensee art academy took an early train from Berlin to Warsaw, learned about the exhibition in the train and had five days to realize new works for it. The Triennale took part in the train on the way back. The limited time and tools for work were extra disturbed by a tough city programme. The intense conditions in a new unfamiliar context required improvisation and intuitive individual action beside the group dynamic. This working process provoked spontaneous ideas and free artistic interpretation to trigger a number of new encounters and experiences to remember by artists, citizens, travelers, police and train officials.
