TexTiles

The aim of this project was to create a tile design based on a textile look. The Tiles combine both practicability and a warm cozy atmosphere.

The design frees tiles from their reputation as sterile, boring wallcovering and instead makes them look like a macro knitting landscape. Knitted fabric is usually worn on cold winter days, and is thus associated with a warm feeling. To create this association with tiles, knitting stitches were chosen as a basic shape for the design. This way, tiles are transformed into something cozy.
