Das mobile „Prosthetic Lab“ ermöglicht in Krisengebieten einen kostengünstigen und lokalen Zugang zu Prothesen durch eine mobile Werkstatt, die parametrische Armprothesen mittels 3D-Scan und 3D-Druck herstellt. Die traditionelle Herstellung von Prothesen ist ein aufwändiger und teuer Prozess. Im Kontrast dazu steht, dass sich 80% der Amputationsopfer in Krisengebieten befinden, denen oft die finanziellen Mittel und der lokale Zugang zu Prothesen fehlt. Mit der mobilen „Prosthetic Lab“ Werkstatt soll diesen Menschen geholfen werden, indem ein lokaler und günstiger Zugang zu Prothesen geschaffen wird und durch ein Open-Source-System die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung gefördert wird.

 

The mobile "Prosthetic Lab" provides low-cost and local access to prostheses in crisis areas through a mobile workshop that manufactures parametric arm prostheses using 3D scanning and 3D printing. Traditional prosthetic manufacturing is a laborious and expensive process. Contrast this with the fact that 80% of amputation victims are in crisis areas, often lacking financial resources and local access to prostheses. The mobile "Prosthetic Lab" workshop aims to help these people by providing local and inexpensive access to prostheses and promoting continuous development through an open-source system.
